Editorial policy and AI use
Updated October 24, 2026
This is the fine print on how we work, in big letters. These are the rules we follow when we publish, and what you can hold us to if we don't. The step-by-step method is on How we work.
Independence
We decide what we publish, based on data and testing. Our opinion isn’t for sale: nobody pays to look better in a comparison or to get a good word about their product. Brand partnerships do exist, and only with brands we use or would use: the details are on our Partnerships page.
When we recommend a tool, it's because we think it's the best option for that situation. If the link also happens to be an affiliate link, we label it (more on that below), but the order never changes: we pick first, and only then add the link if one exists. Never the other way around.
Notablia is a project by Jesús Almir Costa, CEO of the digital marketing agency DigiAcción. If DigiAcción shows up anywhere in our content, you'll see a note disclosing the connection.
Sources
Every fact comes with a source and a date. These are the sources we use, from most to least weight:
- Official documentation from the platform, or the official text of the law.
- Data from professional tools such as DataForSEO and Ubersuggest, with the date we pulled it.
- Our own tests, with the date, version and screenshots.
- Reputable studies and publications, cited and linked.
Estimates are labeled as estimates. When two sources disagree, we tell you. We use YouTube tutorials and forums to find the questions people really have, but anything we state gets checked on the platform or in its documentation. And an AI saying something doesn't make it a source.
Corrections
We make mistakes like everyone else. What we don't do is leave them there. If you spot one:
- Write to us through our contact form with the page URL, what's wrong and, if you can, a source that proves it.
- We check it against the original source.
- If you're right, we fix it and update the “Updated” date.
- If the mistake changed something important (a key number or a step that didn't work), we note the correction in the guide itself.
Updates
We review every guide every 3 months if it covers fast-changing platforms and every 6 months otherwise, plus any time someone tells us something has changed. The “Updated” date only moves when the content changes, never just to look fresh.
Guide URLs don't change. If we ever have to change one, the old address sends you to the new one.
How we use AI
We use artificial intelligence in our process, and we'd rather tell you than have you guess.
What we use it for:
- Research: pulling search data and asking ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity what they say about a topic and whom they cite.
- Sorting and analysis: summarizing what we've gathered, spotting gaps and comparing sources.
- Drafting and adapting: preparing drafts and the Spanish and Portuguese versions, which are then reviewed.
- Review: checking links, lengths, terminology, readability and typos.
What we never use it for:
- Making things up: data, numbers, case studies, testimonials, quotes or screenshots.
- Taking an answer at face value without checking it against the original source.
- Signing anything. AI never gets a byline. Guides are signed by the Notablia editorial team and reviewed by Jesús Almir Costa, who stands behind what we publish.
Screenshots of the steps are always real, never generated. Guide covers are illustrations made with code; if we ever use AI-generated images, we'll say so.
Sponsorships and affiliate links
We accept partnerships with brands that bring something to our readers: articles, mentions or links. How each one is presented and linked is decided case by case, depending on the brand and how it fits the site, and it doesn't change what we recommend anywhere else on the site.
Affiliate links are links that earn us a commission if you buy through them. We only use them for tools we'd recommend anyway, they're tagged in the code with rel="sponsored", as Google recommends, and the page discloses them where you can see it.
What we don't do is hide it: nothing paid is published as if it were just our opinion.
Who's responsible
Notablia is owned by JAC DIGITAL HORIZON, SLU, whose details are in our legal notice. Jesús Almir Costa, who reviews what we publish, stands behind the content. If you have a question or a complaint about this policy, get in touch.
