Font generator: fancy text to copy and paste anywhere
Type your name or bio and this font generator turns it into 28 styles: bold, cursive, gothic, circles, small caps, upside down and more. Copy any of them in one click and paste it into Instagram, TikTok, Discord or your username.
Mind accessibility. Screen readers don’t read these letters as text: some spell them out as math symbols and others skip them. Use them for your name or a single word, never for your whole bio or anything people must understand.

These aren’t fonts, they’re Unicode characters, which is why they paste into Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp or your username. Some older phones may show boxes. On X each of these letters counts as 2 characters. Nothing leaves your browser.
How to use this fancy text generator
This fancy text generator turns whatever you type into 28 styles at once. You get a big preview and a mock profile so you can see your name in place before you paste it.
-
Type your text
Your name, your bio or your username. Leave it empty and you’ll see the “Fancy text” sample.
-
Pick a decoration if you want
“Decoration” adds classic frames for usernames and bios. It applies to every style.
-
Filter and preview
Filters split bold and italic, script and gothic, circles and squares, small text and effects. Tap a style to see it large, with its character count.
-
Copy in one click
Every style has its own “Copy” button. Paste it anywhere: no sign-up, and nothing leaves your browser.
Font copy and paste: how Unicode fonts work
These aren’t fonts. They’re Unicode characters, the standard every phone and computer uses, which is why font copy and paste works at all. Most come from Unicode’s Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, built for formulas: a math bold “A” is a different character from a regular “A”.
That has three side effects worth knowing:
- Accents survive: we split each letter from its accent, restyle the letter and keep the accent on top. So “café” keeps its accent in almost every style.
- Boxes on old phones: if a device lacks a character in its fonts, it shows a box. Bold, italic and small caps display best everywhere.
- They count extra: on X each of these letters counts as 2 characters. Run your text through the character counter if you’re close to the limit.
Instagram fonts and fonts for Instagram bio: where they work
Instagram fonts from a generator work in your name, your bio and your captions. The fonts inside Stories are a separate thing: they live behind the Aa button. On TikTok they go in your name, not your @username. On Discord, in messages, display names and server nicknames.
Three uses that actually help a business:
- A hair salon: the salon name in script and the rest of the bio plain, with the address and booking link.
- An online store: one bold line for the offer (“Free shipping over $50”) and nothing else.
- A streamer: a gothic or framed username, the first thing people see in chat and comments.
Fonts for Instagram bio pair well with blank lines, which is a job for the invisible character tool. And to make that bio actually grow your account, read our guide on how to get more followers on Instagram.
Cursive, bold, small and upside down text: all 28 styles
Here’s what this tool covers, so you don’t need a separate cursive font generator, bold text generator or small text generator.
| Group | Styles |
|---|---|
| Bold and italic | Bold with and without serifs, italic, bold italic and typewriter |
| Script and gothic | Cursive (regular and bold), gothic (regular and bold) and double-struck |
| Circles and squares | Circled, black circles, squared, black squares, parenthesized and full width |
| Small text | Small caps and superscript |
| Effects | Upside down text, backwards, strikethrough, underline, double underline, slashed and spaced out |
A serious heads-up: screen readers don’t read these letters as text. Some spell them out as math symbols and others skip them. Use them for your name or a single word, never for a whole bio or an ad. There’s more in our free marketing tools.
Tiny text generator: small caps and superscript, with examples
A tiny text generator doesn’t shrink your font. It swaps each letter for a smaller Unicode character, and this tool gives you two ways to do it. Type your text and open the “Small text” filter.
| Style | “tiny text” | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Small caps | ᴛɪɴʏ ᴛᴇxᴛ | A brand name or a bio line that has to stay readable |
| Superscript | ᵗⁱⁿʸ ᵗᵉˣᵗ | A short aside or a year, like ²⁰²⁷ |
Small caps keep every letter on the baseline, so they read well in a name. Superscript floats high and gets tiring after a few words. Some letters are borrowed from other alphabets (the small caps q, for one), so check the preview for boxes before you copy. Skip both for a phone number, a price or a link.
Gothic font generator: Old English text to copy and paste
Gothic is the blackletter look you see on newspaper mastheads and metal album covers. Here you get it as Unicode text, in two versions: Gothic (𝔊𝔬𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔠 𝔉𝔬𝔫𝔱) and Bold gothic (𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖈 𝕱𝖔𝖓𝖙).
Three things to know before you paste:
- Numbers: Bold gothic converts them (𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕), regular gothic leaves them plain (2027).
- Length: One to three words work. A whole bio in blackletter is a wall of squiggles.
- Typing: Nobody can type these letters on a keyboard, so a gothic username is hard to search for.
A tattoo studio or a barbershop can put its name in gothic in the Instagram name field and keep the bio in plain letters, so people can still read the opening hours.
Frequently asked questions about the font generator
How do I change the font on Instagram?
Instagram won’t let you pick a font for your name or bio, but it does accept Unicode characters. Type your text here, copy the style you like, go to Edit profile and paste it into Name or Bio. Stories are a different story: Instagram has its own fonts behind the Aa button in the text tool. Your username won’t take them, because it only allows regular letters, numbers, periods and underscores.
How do I get different fonts on Discord?
Discord has built-in formatting: **text** for bold, *text* for italic, __text__ for underline, ~~text~~ for strikethrough and a # at the start of a line for a header. For styles Discord doesn’t offer, like cursive, gothic or circles, copy them here and paste them into a message, your display name or your server nickname. Your username can’t use them: Discord only allows lowercase letters, numbers, underscores and periods there.
How do I use fancy fonts on TikTok?
Copy a style here, go to Profile, tap Edit profile and paste it into Name, which holds up to 30 characters and can be changed every 7 days. It won’t work in Username: TikTok only accepts letters, numbers, underscores and periods, from 2 to 24 characters. If a letter shows up as a box in the preview, switch to bold or small caps, which older phones support better.
How do I get fancy fonts on my iPhone?
You don’t need a special keyboard: type here in Safari, copy and paste into any app. Font keyboard apps from the App Store do the same thing, but many ask for Full Access, which lets the keyboard send what you type off your phone. If you use it a lot, tap Share in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. You’ll get all 28 styles one tap away, like an app, with nothing to install.
How do I make strikethrough text?
Type your text above, open the Effects filter, pick “Strikethrough” and hit Copy. You can paste it anywhere that accepts Unicode, like Instagram, X or a text message. Some apps have their own shortcut, which is cleaner: Discord uses ~~text~~, WhatsApp uses ~text~ and Google Docs has Format, Text, Strikethrough. Use the generator when the app has no formatting, like an Instagram bio or a TikTok name.
